The London Borough of Hackney approved our planning application for the basement as B1 purposes and the ground floor as either B1 or B1/A1 purposes.
Prior to approaching MZA, the client submitted an application for a change of use which was refused on the grounds of a loss of employment floor space.
The original application proposed the use of the basement and ground floor for retail/business purposes. This was refused on the grounds of employment space being lost, and MZA managed to secure permission for the ground floor as B1 space even though it was technically contrary to policy.
