Development: Conversion of building into a x1 one bedroom residential unit
We are excited to announce that our planning application for the conversion of an outbuilding into a 1 bed residential unit with its own garden has been approved by Merton Council.
Our client approached us having secured a lawful development certificate for the erection of an outbuilding. The outbuilding was constructed and we were asked to assess whether or not permission could be secured for a 1 or 2 bed unit. Having reviewed the relevant information we were of the view that the way forward would be submit an application to use the outbuilding as a studio with its own separate garden and access.
We liaised with our client’s architect and fine tuned the drawings in order to address any potential concerns from the Council. We prepared a planning statement and then submitted the application.
The Council supported the proposal and planning permission was granted.
